Rom Space Gypsies 02

In this post I'm reviewing another three Rom Space Gypsies, whom I introduced last post. These are all Jovian humans born on the same planet (Midget) in the Phoenix Nebula, which is also where the three characters I showcased last time hailed from. These three are also crew members of The Speedy Pearl. Their figures were part of the Citadel Miniatures Rogue Trader range produced in the 1980's and now long out of production. They all have the same body but different heads and weapons, which is something that Citadel often did way back then. Their squat and muscular appearance make them ideal figures to use as Jovians.
At the far left is Miron Butacu, a tough as nails Jovian human Rom Space Gypsy gangster who likes to swap stories in bars. His early teenage years were spent as a space jockey in the Rom fleet. Three years later he joined one of the Rom gangs as a street thug. He was employed by Skender Skutnik, the captain of The Speedy Pearl, and later graduated to gangster status as he grew more experienced. He is armed with a 10mm Slugger Rifle and a Disruptor Pistol. He wears a High Quality Nemourelon Vest, which is similar to but a more advanced version of the Kevlar Vest. It offers SOAK:8. He is rank grade:6 with a 6d6 dice pool.
In the centre of this trio is Cosmin Moranu, a forgetful Jovian human Rom Space Gypsy driver who loves red sports cars. He grew up as a traveller, followed by three years as a street thug, three years as a space jockey and five years as a gangster, which is when Skender Skutnik recruited him. As a teenager, Cosmin developed a fascination with automobiles and he loved racing in them whenever the opportunity presented itself. His role is now that of getaway driver for his crew. He is armed with a Bolt Rifle and a 10mm Slugger Pistol. He wears a High Quality Nemourelon Vest. He is also rank grade:6 with a 6d6 dice pool.
Last in line is Razvan Cutov, a Jovian human Rom Space Gypsy who is intolerant and dismissive of all non-Rom. Razvan was a bully from an early age and he enjoyed fighting. He spent his teen years as a street thug. Rather than employ him as another bruiser, Skender Skutnik, made use of Cosmin's scouting talents and employed him as his reconnaissance expert, a job he has done quite successfully for the past twelve years. He is armed with a Bolt Rifle, an Ion Pistol and a Laser Pistol. He also wears a High Quality Nemourelon Vest and he is also rank grade:6 with a 6d6 dice pool.
These are rank and file crew members of The Speedy Pearl, and are all skilled combatants. They are very loyal to Skender Skutnik and proud of their heritage.

  1. Nice resurrection of these classic models Bryan, also in Rogue Trader times they also utilised parts from Chainsaw Warrior which they had stopped producing at the time

  2. For all the advances in model making I think there is a certain charm to the older one that new stuff just doesn't have Bryan.

  3. You've done yet another amazing job of breathing life into these old minis Bryan - both with your paintwork, and of course their character backgrounds :-)
Looking forward to the arrival of The Speedy Pearl :-)

    1. Many thanks, Greg. They won't be appearing in my next scenario, but after that who knows? They will definitely appear sometime.
