The Organisation Space Pirates 06

I have another selection of Organisation space pirates to showcase here. These three figures were produced by Citadel Miniatures many years ago - in the 1980's I believe. Up till now, all of the space pirates I have been showing were either unarmoured or wearing light armour. These three, however, are wearing heavy battlesuits or heavy powered armour, making them much tougher opposition.
At the far left is Sanditon "Ruthless" Zul, a suave human Organisation Intelligence Officer who is distrusting and never gives anyone the benefit of the doubt. Zul was born on the ocean planet of Kolos 2 (Dieri) in the Center starsector. He was a child prodigy and enrolled in a respectable college at the age of 9, where he studied psychology, earning an Honours degree. His parents were corrupt officials working in the Dieri government and were both members of The Organisation. The Organisation had a strong presence on Dieri and corruption was rife. Zul left college to spend four years as a diplomat, where he honed his social skills and made some useful contacts. At the age of 17, his parents gained him membership into The Organisation. He made quite a reputation for himself on Dieri, a feat that was duly noted by his superiors. They offered him a post as one of their intelligence officers, who were known as Inquisitors. He was given unprecedented powers to travel anywhere to check in on Organisation operations anywhere in the galaxy, to ensure things ran smoothly. The job was perfect for him as he was a most distrusting person and he became obsessed with rooting out the truth. He is currently travelling with Adney "Deadeye" Stryker and his crew on board The Black Shroud. He is armed with a Bolt Carbine and he wears a high quality Navy Battlesuit (it has SOAK:13 but is ineffective against electricity attacks) with a Jet Pack. He is rank grade:7 with a 6d6 dice pool.
In the centre of this group is Adney "Deadeye" Stryker, a deadeye human Organisation pilot who is extremely stubborn and ruthless. He was born on Starhaven, the headquarters of The Organisation, to space pirate parents, so it was inevitable that he'd follow in their footsteps. As a child, he travelled far and wide with his parents and his first job was as a space jockey on the same ship they worked on. From them, he learned the arts of being a smuggler and when he was 16, he branched out on his own. This was when he was assigned piloting duties, a role he excelled in. The Organisation helped to nurture his talent and when he was 20 he was assigned his own ship along with a small crew. He named his ship, The Black Shroud, and spent three successful tours of duty commanding it and growing in reputation. He is now 35 years old and he has never been caught. The IPA have placed a sizeable bounty on his head but he still remains one step ahead of them. He prefers starship combat to ground-based combat but when he does have to engage in such actions he goes well prepared. He is armed with an Outerwide Overwatch Syndicate P12 Electron Autopistol and a Duranium Power Fist. He wears a standard Basic Battlesuit (SOAK:10 but is ineffective against electricity attacks) with a Jet Pack. He is also rank grade:7 with a 6d6 dice pool.

Finally, is Malin "Devious" Loyston, a brawny Jovian human who likes to listen to heavy metal music. He was born on Hades 3 (Devil's Ice Box), a high gravity desert planet in the Center starsector. He grew up as a moisture farmer then got a job as a miner. He had always had a rebellious streak and was forever getting into fights. After one brawl too many, he was fired for putting a fellow miner in hospital. A local crime syndicate offered him a job as a bruiser. This led to him being recruited as a space pirate on board The Black Shroud, under the command of Adney "Deadeye" Stryker. His first tour of duty passed well enough for Stryker to offer him full membership into The Organisation and he is now an accepted and loyal member of Stryker's crew. He is well armed with a Ding Exploration IG66 Zero Point Hunting Rifle with fitted Bayonet and an Ion Pistol for dealing with androids and robots. He wears Marauder Power Armour (SOAK:25 but ineffective against Ion attacks) with a Jet Pack. The ML printed on his Jet Pack are his initials. He is rank grade:6 with a dice pool of 6d6.

Once again, I had a lot of fun creating these three NPCs. Malin Loyston is the first Jovian human I have created for N.E.W. He is quite a small and squat figure, so it made a lot of sense to make him a Jovian, who thrive on high gravity worlds. I also wanted all three characters to be connected, so two of them are crew members of the same ship and Zul is travelling with them as a passenger. These are also the first characters I have created who are wearing heavy armour. It'll be interesting to see how they fare in combat.

  1. Great blasts from the past, mini-wise Bryan, and plenty of your usual highly-detailed character background to boot!! :-)

    1. Many thanks, Simon. They were a joy to paint and create backgrounds for.

  2. Great backgrounds for these classic models Bryan, if memory serves the left and centre models were Inquisitors and the one on the right was a limited addition model for space marines at the time and yes were all released in the 80's

    1. Thanks for the info and confirming what I thought, Dave. The two to the left certainly look like Inquisitors and I do recall the other one being a limited edition figure.

    1. Hi, John. Many thanks for your comment. As its name implies, Hades 3 is a hellhole. It is not on anyone's tourist route and visitors are discouraged but it does hold interesting opportunities for adventurers.

    1. Hi, Frank and welcome. I'm glad you made it here. All three figures were released at roughly the same time, but as I said, and as Dave confirmed, they are very old.

    2. I know their old Bryan as I've been around a long time :) I should have explained a bit better, what I meant was I face him once upon a time in some one's 40K army, I think these models date back to Rouge Trader which later became 40K.

    3. You are absolutely right, Frank - they were part of the old Rogue Trader range. There were a lot of great figures in that range. I bought most of them at the time.
