St. Trinian's Staff 01

I am now ready to start a new campaign using the N.O.W. role-playing rules by EN Publishing. This rulebook is designed for games set in the contemporary period. I have a few ideas for contemporary campaigns but the most popular choice that my followers wanted me to do was one based upon the St. Trinian's films, a series that I'm particularly fond of. Thank you Frank and John! I had planned on running a St. Trinian's campaign on my Undead blog but I never got round to it. The N.O.W. rules are absolutely perfect for such a campaign. Before I start the campaign I want to show you my cast of St. Trinian's characters. At the time of this posting I have 8 staff members and 32 students and every one of them has a fully developed character record sheet created for them. It was a lot of work creating so many characters but it was something I fully enjoyed doing. A lot of the figures I'm using have been shown on my Undead blog but there are also new additions that have never been shown before. In this post, for example, Matron has never been shown before. For the next few posts I'm going to split the characters up into the following categories - Staff, Sixth Formers, Fifth Formers, Fourth Formers, Third Formers and Second Formers. No, there are no First Formers in my figure collection. So let's get started. The characters are split between those who appeared in the recent St. Trinian's and St. Trinian's: Legend of Fritton's Gold films and those whom I have designed myself.
At the far left is Camilla Dagey Fritton, an elderly empathic human headmistress of St. Trinian's School for Girls who will go to any lengths to make her school a success. She is the latest member of this family to be the headmistress of St. Trinian's. She is the grand-daughter of the late Millicent Fritton, the first headmistress of St. Trinian's from the 1950's. She has a younger brother named Carnaby, whom she barely tolerates. She never married but she has a number of rich men friends, including Education Minister Geoffrey Thwaites whom she is romantically involved with. St. Trinian's reputation as the most anarchic and corrupt school in the United Kingdom is well deserved. Camilla is fiercely loyal to her girls and will go to any lengths to ensure the school remains open and gives her pupils a full education to prepare them for life outside. Her philosophy can be summed up thus, "In other schools girls are sent out quite unprepared into a merciless world but when our girls leave here, it is the merciless world which has to be prepared." She is rank grade:7 and aged 61. Her figure is a Black Cat Bases sleuth.

Next up is "Flash Harry" Edwards, a persuasive human smuggler who avoids danger at all costs. Henry Cuthbert Edwards aka "Flash Harry" was born and bred in Watford, London. His father sold racecards, and when he was 12 years old, Harry was employed as a boot polisher by Miss Fritton, the headmistress of St. Trinian's School for Girls. Thus began a long relationship with the school. As an adult, Harry is one of the few whom the pupils trust. He helps to bottle and sell their gin, distilled in the chemistry lab, and places bets on horses for them. Harry also runs the St. Trinian's Matrimony Agency for the teenage Sixth Form girls, setting them up with wealthy men. He even runs a betting scam of his own and is quite well known in the criminal community. He is rank grade:6 aged 36. His figure is a converted teenage thief produced by Turnkey Miniatures.
Second from the right is Celia Savile, a feeble human nurse who likes crossword puzzles and word games. From an early age, Celia knew she wanted to be a nurse when she grew up. Upon leaving school she studied Medicine at Barts and the London School of Medicine and Dentistry. She passed her exams with an Honours degree. After spending 12 hard years working in a busy London hospital as a ward nurse, she made the decision to find a less stressful job working as nurse in a primary school. For three years, she was very happy in her job at a small school in a rural village in the Home Counties. But falling pupil numbers meant that the school was forced to close and so she had to look elsewhere for a new posting. Unfortunately for her, the Medical Commission assigned her to St. Trinian's School for Girls. Life there was akin to working as a front-line nurse in a war zone. Barely a day went by when someone didn't need patching up as the pupils were a violent and anarchic lot. Sports days were always busy times for her as injuries were as inevitable as they were frequent. To help cope with the stress she has taken up drinking alcohol during her down time. She also relaxes by doing crossword puzzles every day. To staff and pupils alike she is referred to as "Matron." She is rank grade:5 aged 38. Her figure is a converted Black Cat Bases scientist.

Last in line is Beverley Whittaker, a clumsy human receptionist at St. Trinian's School who spends more time daydreaming than working. Beverley was one of life's underachievers. She drifted through school with average grades and no clear idea of what she wanted to do with her life. After passing her driving test she got a job as a pizza delivery girl, which lasted a year. Then she got  a job delivering prescriptions to home-bound patients. Boredom set in after a few years and she got sacked after taking one too many sick days. She decided that a change in direction was needed and she got a job as a part time secretary in a large office. Over the next three years she worked for six different companies, never spending more than six months at any one place. Eventually, she applied for the post of receptionist at St. Trinian's School, where her past was overlooked. She is at best, average at her job, but is tolerated by the pupils who quickly sussed that she was oblivious to all the mischief they got up to. Beverley does take drugs and drinks alcohol, and she spends more time daydreaming than working, but Miss Fritton, the headmistress, pretends not to notice. She is rank grade:5 aged 27. Her figure is a Turnkey Miniatures civilian.
At the far left is Caterina Maupassant, a suave human St. Trinian's School French teacher who flirts constantly. She was born and raised in Paris, France and was an only child. Upon leaving school she got a job as a cocktail waitress in a popular wine bar. She had blossomed into a very beautiful young woman and it was her good looks that drew the attention of a casting agent who offered her a job as an actress. She appeared as a supporting actress in a film called Ecole du Scandale (School for Scandal), a smutty comedy which called for her to appear fully nude. It was not a big success but nor was it a flop. This lead to Caterina being offered more movie roles but they were all for porn films and she didn't want to go down that route. After two years of drifting aimlessly whilst she reconsidered her future she moved to England and enrolled in a teacher training college. She passed her exams and got a job at an inner city comprehensive school in London. She stayed there for a couple of years before moving to her current school, St. Trinian's School for Girls. She immediately felt at home here. She teaches three foreign languages - French, German and Spanish. She is well respected by the pupils, especially the Posh Totty clique, who love her sense of style. She is rank grade:6 aged 28. Her figure was produced by Black Cat Bases.

Next to her is Lena Dickinson, an erudite human teacher at St. Trinian's School who likes to read poetry and ancient literature. Lena is a bookworm who is a mild-mannered and naïve woman who has a tendency to see the good in people she meets. She did well enough at school to take a degree course in Literature at her home university in Cambridge. She wanted to pursue a career in teaching and upon acquiring her teacher training certificate, she taught at a number of secondary modern schools before facing her biggest challenge of her life - teaching literature and English language at the notorious St. Trinian's School for Girls. She was totally unprepared for what she found there, as the girls were an undisciplined and unruly mob with little desire to learn anything other than how to cause chaos and mayhem. But Lena was determined to do well and when she entered the school in the TV quiz show, School Challenge, the headmistress, Camilla Fritton, fully supported her and to her surprise, so too, did the pupils. Unbeknownst to Lena, there was an ulterior motive for Camilla wanting the school to do well in the challenge. It was important that the school reached the final of the series and they did, thanks to their cheating in every round. Lena was delighted to see the school team triumph in the final, and as a result, she earned a lot of respect from the pupils. She is rank grade:5 aged 30. Her figure is a Black Cat Bases Female Civilian.
Third in line is Fenella Cleaver, a rugged human St. Trinian's School PE teacher who always pushes herself and her pupils to the limit. Fenella grew up near Pretoria in South Africa to parents who taught her the art of survivalism from a very early age. By the time she was 18, she was already highly skilled in survival and combat skills. She was also very adept at sports and decided to emigrate to England where she joined an athletics club in London. She excelled at running and for the next seven years she competed in the London Marathon every year, always finishing in the top 100. She suffered an unfortunate ligament injury on a training run when she was 25. Whilst recovering she made the decision to resign from professional running and pursue a career in teaching sports. Her first teaching appointment was at the infamous St. Trinian's School for Girls. Her tough upbringing stood her in good stead in surviving intact at the school. She pushes her pupils hard but she has earned their respect as a teacher not to be messed with. As well as her regular sports curriculum, she also teaches her pupils survival and combat skills. She is rank grade:5 aged 30. Her figure was made from the Warlord Games Project Z Male and Female Survivors sets.

Finally, is Ruby Gates, an alert human detective who loves automobiles. Ruby was a very bright child who enjoyed being a Girl Guide. She had a good upbringing and did well at school. She went on to study Criminology at college with a view to taking a career in the police force. After seven years as a constable she applied to be a detective and she easily passed the entrance exam. She was well respected by her colleagues and had a high detection rate on the cases she was assigned to. Her grandmother, whom Ruby was named after, also worked as a policewoman before retiring. Young Ruby would often consult with her. When Ruby received her latest assignment - to work undercover as an IT teacher at the notorious St. Trinian's School for Girls, her grandmother was horrified and begged her not to go. She had also worked undercover at the same school early in her career, and it had not gone well for her. However, young Ruby was adamant that she could take care of herself and that she had nothing to worry about. Her confidence was soon to be found greatly misplaced. Nothing could have prepared her for what was to  come! She is rank grade:6 aged 29. Her figure is another Turnkey Miniatures civilian.

    1. Thank you kindly, Dave. You are spot on. Much as I loved the "St. Trinian's" film of 2007, the one thing I hated about it was Russell Brand's performance as "Flash Harry". For me the late, great George Cole was the only "Flash Harry" I wanted my version based on. Also, note that detective Ruby Gates is the grand-daughter of Joyce Grenfell's police constable of the same name.
